A figure of a British tank crewman from the fighting in Normandy in 1944 in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. The designation No. 1 distinguishes a particular figure: the manufacturer also offers figure number 2 separately and both together as a set. If you are building a single vehicle and want to add just one figure to it, the separate figure is the more practical choice than a whole set.
Normandy in 1944 was, for British armored units, an environment of narrow lanes, high banks and hedgerows, where fighting took place at short range. Crews spent a good deal of time with their hatches open and outside their vehicles, so figures of tank crewmen are a rewarding addition to dioramas from this period and help to give a model its sense of scale. British armored crews of that time are easy to recognize by the black beret of the Royal Armoured Corps and by their overalls.
With figures in 1:35 the preparation decides everything. Clean up the parting lines, try a dry fit into the hatch or on the chosen spot and only then glue. Choose the glue according to what you find in the package. Paint over primer and build the uniform up from the base shade through shadows in the folds to highlights on the taut areas. Leave the face for last and work with heavily thinned paint. Unify the surface with matte varnish and leave only the leather and metal parts with a slight sheen.
