This is a finished photo-etched accessory, not an airplane model. The panel from Yahu Models is pre-printed in full color with faithful instruments and is ready to use straight away. It replaces the flat plastic instrument panel part from the kit and adds detail to the cockpit that is otherwise hard to achieve in a small scale.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was an American carrier-based dive bomber of the Second World War. The SBD-3 version became famous above all at the Battle of Midway, where these aircraft played a key role. The Dauntless ranks among the iconic types of US naval aviation.
Sand the original molded panel from the kit smooth and glue the pre-painted photo-etched part on with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary cement for plastic is not suitable. The pre-printed finish needs no painting and the gloss layer imitates the glazing of the instruments. In 1:72 scale the parts are very small, so tweezers and careful handling are advisable.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
