Fourteen-inch steel rims of the Italian type for Alfa Romeo models in 1:24 scale, in the bare version without hubcaps.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pressed wheel fourteen inches across was part of the basic equipment of Italian cars of the 1960s and 1970s. On a model it looks modest, but that modesty is exactly its strength: a bare steel rim with exposed nuts says that the car either had the most basic trim level or that its hubcaps had been taken off for racing.
An exposed wheel shifts the whole impression toward something rawer. The side of the body stays smooth and attention moves to the shape of the fender and to how much room is left above the tire. On competition versions the ride height was usually raised and the wheel set deeper inward, so a clear gap opened between the tire and the arch lip; with this rim that gap can be justified on a model. For a city version, by contrast, it is enough to tuck the wheel in more tightly and the track of the car narrows to the eye.
On the real subject steel wheels were most often painted light gray, silver or in the body color. The center of the rim with the bolt holes is the one place where a fine shadow is worth the effort on a model, because that is what gives the wheel depth. On the circumference watch the lip for the tire bead: leave it a shade darker and the wheel stops looking like a flat target.
It suggests itself for rally and circuit builds, for cars in working service and for examples in the simplest trim. If you want a more elegant treatment with a covered center, the manufacturer also makes a version with a hubcap in the same diameter.
