A fourteen-inch BBS wheel in the two-piece form with a fine mesh pattern, the rims alone.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German BBS came up with a pattern that recalls a fine mesh running out from the center to the edge. It was not merely an aesthetic idea: a dense net of thin arms carried heat away from the brake and at the same time weighed little. The eighties appropriated this shape so thoroughly that today it is enough to stand such a wheel under any car and a viewer will immediately fill in both the time and the setting.
The aim is the builder who wants to make a modified but cultivated car out of a German car of the eighties. It is not about a wild conversion, more about what an owner with good taste and a decent salary got himself back then. It works splendidly with compact sedans, small coupes and hatchbacks, that is where fourteen inches was a respectable number. The set is suitable for working in series as well, because you can seat the same type of wheel under several different cars without breaking the truth of the period.
A dense net is a trap for paint. A heavy layer glues neighboring arms together and the mesh becomes an area, by which the wheel loses everything that makes it interesting. Spray thinly and rather several times, letting it dry thoroughly between layers. Rubber is not part of the delivery, so you can choose the side according to whether you want the car at its factory height or seated lower.
A warm golden shade in the middle completed by a polished ring all the way around looks credible. Draw the difference between the two surfaces as far as it will go, because the whole impression of the rim rests on exactly that. Suggest the bolts around the circumference with a dark dot; they are small, but the eye looks for them.
