An injection-molded plastic kit of the racing Nissan Skyline GT-R of the BNR32 generation in Group A specification, in the color scheme connected with the partner BP Oil Trampio. According to the designation in the name it is the car from the winning appearance in the Japanese Inter TEC event of 1993. The 1:24 scale is the most widespread one for car models, so the model will fit well into an existing display case.
The Skyline GT-R of the BNR32 generation came into being at the end of the 1980s above all in order to open the way to homologation in Group A, and in the Japanese touring car championship it became the reference machine in its class. The drivetrain consists of a twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder RB26DETT engine, complemented by all-wheel drive with electronically controlled distribution of the drive to the front axle. It was precisely the combination of power with traction from all four wheels that made the car a difficult opponent on fast as well as technical circuits. The racing form differs from the production one in its wide fenders, the lightened interior with a roll cage, racing wheels and the extensive sponsor livery, which is the main visual theme of this model.
On a circuit racer the surface of the body decides the result. Clean the mold seams off the parts, sand the body with fine paper and apply a filler primer, which will reveal any remaining unevenness. Spray the paint in several thin coats and let it cure thoroughly. Before the decals apply a gloss clear, so that no silvering appears at the edges, settle the decals with a decal softener and, once they are dry, seal them with a further clear coat. The interior and the chassis, by contrast, look more believable in a matte shade with fine emphasis of the details. Glue the clear parts with a glue intended for glazing, as an ordinary modeling cement would fog them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
