Wooden flight deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the American aircraft carrier Lexington CV-2, cut for the Meng PS-002 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Lexington, with the hull designation CV-2, was one of the first large American aircraft carriers. She came from a hull originally laid down as a battlecruiser, which accounts for her length and for the massive side superstructure with its funnel. She was lost in 1942 at the Battle of the Coral Sea. On an aircraft carrier, the flight deck is the area everyone looks at.
The set is a wooden deck part in 1:700 scale shaped for the kit from the maker Meng with the manufacturer's part number PS-002. The outlines cannot be carried over to models of other brands. The material is wood, so the tone and texture come from it and you do not have to create them with a spray coat and glazes.
A large flat area forgives mistakes least, so lay the part on dry first and check the outline at the elevators and at the superstructure. Clean and degrease the plastic under the deck carefully. The glue and the fixing procedure are in the manufacturer's instructions; apply it thinly and evenly so that no bubble is left under the part and nothing soaks through to the face. Work from one end to the other and press down with a soft pad.
For the aircraft carrier modeler in 1:700 scale who wants the deck to be the material itself. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
