The Nissan Cedric V20E Gran Turismo (Y31) in 1:24 scale captures a Japanese luxury sedan of the late 1980s in its more sportily tuned trim.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit represents the Y31 generation of the Cedric, the large Japanese sedan that was sold at home both as a representative car and as a popular taxi. The maker is the Japanese company Fujimi, a brand with a long tradition in kits of home-market passenger cars.
The Y31 generation Cedric arrived in a year when the Japanese market was at the peak of the era of so-called high-society cars. The range was split between the conservative Brougham line and the more dynamically conceived Gran Turismo, which was given a darker grille, different rims and a sportier suspension setup. The V20E designation refers to a two-liter V6 with fuel injection. The low angular silhouette with four frameless doors is one of the most striking shapes of Japanese production in the 1980s.
Dark shades suited the subject, but they are exactly where every scratch shows, so sand the surface under the paint with fine paper and polish it. The chrome window surround can be picked out with a thin strip of foil. The interior of large sedans is clearly visible through the generous glass, so it is worth setting the fabric upholstery apart with a matte color and the plastic parts with a semi-matte one.
You get the model in pieces and without color; the glue and shades needed are not enclosed.
