An injection-molded plastic kit of the invented Spiegel HP-022 racing machine from the Japanese animated series Cyber Formula, from its later part called Sin. The kit is built by the Japanese maker Aoshima, which runs the machines from this series as a line of its own in a single 1:24 scale, so the individual cars can be put together into a collection. Aoshima reissues the titles of this line, so close patterns of the same machine exist alongside one another. Tell them apart by the exact designation of the machine and by the release.
Cyber Formula is a fictional racing series of the future, not a real motor sport championship. The machines in it have an enclosed cabin, covered areas of the chassis and very pronounced aerodynamic items whose shapes are far from real formula cars. The Spiegel HP-022 belongs to the cars of the later part of the series, which against the first machines are usually more angular and more broken up. Because the subject is invented, the car has no real technical counterpart and all its shapes come from the animated original.
Sharp edges and the surfaces that carry decals call for careful sanding so that they keep their shape. Go over the body with filler primer, which reveals the scratches left by sanding, and only then paint with an airbrush in thin coats. Prepare a gloss base under the decals, clear coat the surface once they have dried and settle the degree of gloss with the final clear coat. Mask the glazing and glue it with a glue that is gentle on clear plastic. Bring out the breakdown of the parts with a liquid shade run into the engraved lines, and wipe the excess away. A body put together dry before painting saves work on later adjustments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
