This set of etched parts in 1:24 scale is intended to improve a model of the Pagani Zonda C12S car. Neither the body nor the chassis is part of it; it is about refining details that cannot be made in plastic. The set is offered by Aoshima.
The etched parts are tenths of a millimeter thick, so they faithfully replace grilles, meshes and thin trim strips that come out needlessly heavy in injected plastic. On a supercar of this kind the difference shows best on the cooling openings, the decorative frames and the small fittings in the cabin. The car the set is cut for is given in the name of the item, so check which variant of the Zonda you are building before buying.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with nippers, or the edge will ripple. Make the bends over a metal ruler or a bending tool and press evenly along the whole length of the edge. A degreased surface holds the base coat far more readily, so wash the parts before painting and let them dry thoroughly. For joining, cyanoacrylate glue dosed in small drops with a pin has proved itself.
