An intercooler in 1:24 from Hobby Design combines a resin core with photo-etched metal and completes the forced-induction engine of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for building forced-induction cars in the kit scale of 1:24. The set combines a casting with photo-etched metal, thanks to which the fine fin structure that injection-molded plastic cannot carry can be reproduced on the cooling core. Neither the car nor its body is included; this is a building element in its own right.
On forced-induction cars the air passes after compression through a cooler that gives it back its density. It tends to be hung at the front ahead of the water radiator, or placed above the engine depending on the layout of the drive. On a model it therefore ends up directly in the cutout of the bumper or in the opening in the hood and is visible from outside, without anything having to be opened.
A short bath in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent does the casting good, after which the paint takes hold far better. Glue the photo-etched fins with thin cyanoacrylate glue and wipe the excess off at once, because a dried drop between the fins shows. Apply the aluminum tone thinly so that the structure does not clog up; a dark shade run in between the fins will then create depth. Set the hose stubs apart with a colored silicone shade of the kind that commonly appears on modified cars.
