1:24 Joes Power Plus Service Station

The set

A set in 1:24 scale on the theme of a service station, designated in the name as Joes Power Plus. The 1:24 scale is among the most widespread for car models, so the station will serve as a setting into which finished cars are placed. The detailed contents of the package and the procedure of assembly are given by the manufacturer's instructions.

Where it fits

A car model standing on its own looks like an exhibit on display on a shelf; as soon as you place it in a setting, it starts to tell a story. A service station is a rewarding subject for that: it can be completed with figures, tools, drums and small items of the same scale and used as a background when photographing models as well. For the resulting appearance it pays to lay out the base in advance and to think through from where the scene will be viewed.

Building and painting tips

First rid the parts of excess material and of marks from manufacture, sand the mating surfaces and test-fit the assembly dry. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and follow the manufacturer's instructions. It is advisable to spray the large flat areas before the whole is closed up, because they are hard to reach later. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface and apply a thin base layer. The build looks more credible when you highlight the color finely on the edges and in the most heavily worked places; but proceed in thin layers so that the result does not look overdone.

Who it is for

The set suits car modelers who want to set their cars in a setting, and builders of scenes from everyday life. Paints, thinner, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
