An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Mazda RX-7 R1 sports car in 1:24 scale from Tamiya. The model captures the body of the RX-7 generation with its period proportions and offers a detailed chassis and interior. The Mazda RX-7 was a Japanese sports coupe famous for being powered by a rotary (Wankel) engine, which offered high output in compact dimensions. The R1 version was a more sharply tuned form with the emphasis on handling. The car is still a sought-after representative of the Japanese sports scene of the 1990s.
Spraying the body with an airbrush over a primer is recommended, with the gloss clear coat applied only after the decals and polished at the end. Leave the chrome and clear parts until last so that they are not scratched. The interior and the engine bay come out well with washes to bring out the detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
