1:24 Mazda RX-7 R1 Detail Set from Hobby Design will add fine accents to a model of the rotary icon of the 1990s that round its graceful curves off. The set follows on from the parts of the Tamiya 24116 kit.

A supplementary set from the Hobby Design range for the kit of the Mazda RX-7 in the R1 execution in 1:24 scale. It is not a kit of an automobile as such; the set only enriches the Tamiya 24116 model.
The third generation of the RX-7 from the beginning of the 1990s enchanted with its flowing curves and above all with its power unit: a two-rotor Wankel engine with a pair of turbochargers offered a silky character and a willingness to rev that the piston units of the time did not know. The R1 package added stiffer tuning and extras for running at circuits, so among those in the know it is considered the choice of purists. The RX-7 is to this day among the most beautiful Japanese coupes in history and in a display case it will bear European exotics beside it.
The curves of the body will stand out only with faultless paint, so fit the extras only after the final polishing. Lay the smaller elements out on paper in advance according to their position on the model, so that you are not searching while gluing. A drop of glue on a needle is amply enough; let the joints cure overnight and only then move the model.
The R1 package is recognized from the ordinary RX-7 by small items in the execution and the tuning, but it shares the silhouette with the whole third generation. During the build it therefore pays to verify the form of the wheels and the rear with the year chosen. The richly red paint many cars of that time were sold with suits the model best to this day.
