The Pajero Junior appeared in the middle of the 1990s as a scaled-down counterpart of the large off-road vehicle of the same name. It aimed at Japanese customers who wanted a robust look and the ability to move off paved roads but did not need large external dimensions. The short wheelbase, the tall build of the body and the spare wheel on the rear door gave it an unmistakable silhouette, which keeps a faithful following to this day.
