In the Nissan range the Leopard was a luxury passenger car placed above the ordinary middle class. The generation with the F31 designation was built from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s and was offered as a two-door coupe with a long hood and a low roofline. The car was technically related to further large models of the marque and on the North American market it was sold under a different trade name within the group's luxury division. Among followers of the Japanese car scene the F31 holds a strong position to this day as a typical representative of the era when Japanese luxury cars defined themselves by their engineering and equipment rather than by their dimensions.
The long flat side surface of the coupe will show every ripple in the finish, so use a filler primer, thorough sanding and paint sprayed with an airbrush in thin coats. The chromed trim around the windows is essential with this subject, as it makes the character of the car; either use the metallized parts supplied or bring it out with a fine brush or a chrome marker. Glue the glazing with a glue for transparent parts. The interior of Japanese luxury cars tends to be two-tone, so it pays to set the seats and the dashboard apart in different shades. Apply the decals onto a glossy base with a softener and unify them with a varnish over the top.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
