An injection-molded plastic kit of the four-door Nissan Gloria sedan of the 330 series in 1:24 scale. The model comes from the Japanese company Aoshima and belongs to its Grand Champion range, grachan for short, which is devoted to period modified Japanese cars. From that come the accessories by which the body differs from the production version: a front spoiler under the bumper, a striking rear wing, deep wheels and long mirrors set far forward.
The Gloria of the 330 series was built in the second half of the 1970s as the sister car of the Nissan Cedric, with which it shared the engineering and the body and from which it differed mainly in the front grille and in details of the equipment. It was a large sedan, prestigious by the Japanese standards of the time, with a longitudinally mounted engine and rear-wheel drive, sold as a company car as well as a taxi. That is precisely why in the 1980s it became a popular and cheaply available basis for modifications in the kaido racer style, inspired by the circuit specials of the Japanese Fuji Grand Champion series. A lowered chassis, overfenders, wheels that stick out and a massive aerodynamic kit are typical of this direction, and the kit captures them.
It is a classic glued kit, so thin cement for plastic applied with a brush into the joints is the thing. A deep gloss suits the body of a car of this type: work through filler primer, fine wet sanding, two to three thin coats of paint and a final gloss varnish, which can be polished once it has cured. The chrome accessories and the window surrounds are worth handling with masking and polished silver paint. With cars that have an aerodynamic kit, check the mating surfaces of the parts on the body before gluing and fill any gaps with putty.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
