A plastic kit of the Italian hypercar Pagani Huayra in 1:24 scale, that is in the most widespread automotive range. The finished model can be displayed in one row with other road cars and thanks to the striking shapes of the subject it is among the rewarding pieces for a display case. The manufacturer is the Japanese firm Aoshima, which besides domestic cars also has European sports and luxury types in its program.
The small Italian manufactory Pagani presented the Huayra at the start of the 2010s as the successor to the Zonda model. The car stands on a carbon fiber monocoque structure, it is powered by a turbocharged V12 supplied from Germany and it opens with upward-swinging doors. Its most prominent technical feature is active aerodynamics, that is movable flaps at the front and rear that turn by themselves according to speed, braking and cornering and thus keep the car balanced. The name Huayra refers to an Andean god of the wind.
The Huayra is a car full of rounded surfaces and vents, so the parting lines have to be sanded carefully so that the edge of the shape is not lost. Before painting, wash the body, sand it and apply a filler primer, and only then the covering shade and a gloss clear coat. If you want to imitate the exposed carbon areas, there are special decals with a weave pattern for that, which are applied onto a gloss base and sealed with varnish. Glue the upward-swinging doors and the fine aerodynamic elements only at the end, so that they are not snapped off during handling. There is a lot of chrome and polished metal surface on the subject, so it pays to reach for a good silver paint or a metallizing lacquer.
