Responsibility details are not available.
A set of decals for a model of the Porsche 917K sports prototype in 1:24 scale. It matches the car of the South African Gunston team with race number 1, in which John Love and Richard Attwood drove in the nine-hour race at Kyalami in 1970. It is not a kit but a set of markings on its own for a model of your own.
The Porsche 917 was a twelve-cylinder prototype sports car built for the top class of endurance racing. The 917K version had a shortened tail with a shorter body, which markedly improved the behavior of the car compared with the long version. The Gunston team was a South African stable and its orange finish is among the best-known non-works liveries of the time.
Apply the decals onto gloss varnish; on a matte surface a silvery veil will appear under them. Cut the sheet close to the motif so that no visible edge is left around it. Dip the decal in water for a few seconds only and let it release on the paper; do not pull it off with tweezers. On broken-up surfaces use a decal softener, which draws the film down to the detail. Once dry, overcoat the whole model so that the decals merge with the paint.
