A small accessory for builders of car models in 1:24 scale. It is not a model of a car and not a part of one, but a free-standing part with which you replace the simplified battery from a boxed kit, or add a battery to a model where the basic box has none at all. Yamamoto Model Parts is a Polish brand specializing precisely in tuning details for car models.
The real subject is a small lightweight starter battery of the kind used in modified and racing cars. Against a production battery it has a smaller volume and a lower weight, and because it takes up little room, it tends to be moved away from the usual place by the radiator, into the luggage compartment or behind the seats, for the sake of weight distribution. Free space is then left in the engine bay, which shows on a model, so it pays to work out what leads to the battery as well.
First wash the part in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the remains of mold release agent disappear from the surface, as without that the primer holds badly. Separate it from the casting block with a fine-toothed saw or a cutting disc, not with sprue cutters, which could break it. Level the remainder of the gate with a file and sand the seating surface flat on a board with sandpaper; only then will the part sit on a floor or a fender with no gap. It is glued with super glue, and on a larger surface reach for the gel variant, which gives you time to adjust the position. Before painting, lay down a filler primer, which will also reveal fine scratches left by sanding. The terminals can be brought to life with a thin wire, and the hole for it is drilled with a micro drill at low speed.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. The part is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and wire are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
