An accessory for the interior of a car model. The name places the item in the lettered line of seats and states that resin meets decals in the package. On seats the decals usually carry the maker's logo or a stripe on the backrest, that is details that are hard to do with a brush and that the eye catches at once.
An injection-molded part has to respect the movement of the mold, and so it lacks undercut sides, sharp edges of the side support and pass-throughs for the belts. A resin casting has none of these limits and holds the shape of a real shell, pressings and stitching included. On a finished model it then shows whether the seat stands on rails or is bolted fast to a bracket.
First level the area where the decal is going to a gloss, otherwise a matte silvered edge will appear under the film. Once it is dry, go over the whole seat with matte varnish and the difference disappears. The sides and the back can take a darker shade than the cushion, because less light is reflected off them. Bring out the seam at the edge of the cushion with a thin dark line and wipe the excess off with a damp wooden stick.
