The Nissan Y31 Cedric and Gloria in 1:24 scale is a plastic kit of a Japanese luxury sedan from Aoshima's The High Society Car range, that is, in the period ornamental styling of the end of the 1980s.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the four-door Nissan hardtop of the Y31 series, which was sold under the names Cedric and Gloria. The kit belongs to Aoshima's The High Society Car range, hi-so for short, and captures the car in the period ornamental styling of the end of the Japanese bubble economy. According to the manufacturer both the Cedric and the Gloria variant can be built, and included are a wide aerodynamic kit with widened fender flares, a choice of ride height, fender trim, an aluminum license plate, wheels with a spoke pattern and low-profile tires. A new sheet of decals is enclosed, and the body is molded in white plastic.
The Y31 series was introduced in 1987 and was the last generation of the Cedric and the Gloria with a classic low hardtop without window frames. It was offered with turbocharged as well as naturally aspirated six-cylinders, and in Japan it was among the typical cars of managers, of taxi services and of the so-called hi-so scene, that is, the wave of showy modifications of luxury sedans of the end of the 1980s. Characteristic of them were widened fenders, a lowered chassis, small wheels with a large offset and abundant chrome. It is exactly this form that Aoshima reproduces in its The High Society Car range.
Fit the widened fender flares dry first and fine-tune the transitions with putty, otherwise they will be visible after spraying. White plastic makes light shades easier, but use filler primer even so. Spray the body in thin coats and finish with gloss varnish, which can be polished once it has cured. You can manage the chrome trim around the windows with polished silver paint or with narrow bare-metal foil. Think the choice of ride height through before gluing the chassis, because once glued it is hard to change.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
