The set by itself will not build a car; it is a collection of detail extras for a luxury Toyota sedan. It is prepared for the Aoshima No. 047378 kit in 1:24 scale and according to the name it combines photo-etch with resin castings. The numbers of the individual parts are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
For long years the Crown Majesta stood at the top of the Toyota range for the home Japanese market: a big comfortable sedan with a refined V8 and equipment at the level of limousines. It was cars exactly like these that the Japanese VIP style scene took a liking to, standing them on large polished wheels, laying the chassis down to the ground and bringing the paint to a mirror gloss. The modifications of the Vlene brand belong to this direction and a model of a Majesta modified this way is a spectacular and still not too familiar subject for any collection.
On cars in the VIP style the depth of the paint is decisive: do not spare time on polishing, proceed with pastes from the coarser to the finest and seal the result with a quality clear varnish. Join the glossy surfaces with a glue that leaves no misty veil, as ordinary cyanoacrylate can fog the area around a joint; good ventilation of the workplace or a glue intended for clear parts will help.
Besides the paint and the wheels, small items in the cabin belong to this style too: light upholstery, curtains in the rear windows and extras on the dashboard. A sedan thereby gains a character that the body alone can never carry by itself. In a display case, stand the car so that light falls on the glossy sides from above and the depth of the paint stands out.
