Fujimi 1:700 Warship Next IJN Hiei — a model of the Japanese Kongo-class fast battleship from the modern Warship Next line. Parts molded in color and a build without glue or painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Japanese fast battleship Hiei from the manufacturer Fujimi in the Warship Next line. The parts are molded in color and snap together — the model can be finished without glue and without painting, which makes it an ideal entry into the world of ship models. More experienced builders will easily lift it with a wash and add-on detail.
Hiei was the second ship of the Kongo class, completed in 1914. After being disarmed under the interwar treaties she served as a training ship, but at the end of the 1930s she went through a major rebuild into a fast battleship — and her new tower superstructure served as the test pattern for the bridges of the Yamato-class ships. During the war she escorted carrier groups at the attack on Pearl Harbor and at Midway. On the night of 12 to 13 November 1942 she was heavily damaged in the First Naval Battle of Guadalcanal and sunk the following day — the first Japanese battleship lost in the Second World War.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and clean up the marks left by the sprue gates lightly. The color division of the parts matches reality, so even an unpainted model looks convincing; a fine dark wash will bring out the decks and the superstructures.
The kit is supplied unassembled. The parts are molded in color and snap together without glue; paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
