Blue webbing, four anchor points and finished artwork including the fittings. The sheet matches 1:24 scale models of sports cars in size.
Responsibility details are not available.
Four anchor points mean a pair of shoulder straps and a pair of lap straps that come together in a single central buckle. Compared with the three-point belt of an ordinary car, such an arrangement keeps the torso firmly braced against the seat back even when the car changes direction in a bend faster than the body can react. In a machine weighing around six hundred kilograms and with stiff suspension, that is the difference between the driver holding his line and leaning on the steering wheel.
Blue webbing is the second most common after black at the British brand Willans, and in Sevens it tends to be seen above all in cars tuned toward a dark blue finish with polished aluminum sides. Matching the strap to the bodywork is one of the things owners of this class of car use to set their own vehicle apart.
The print is full color and the surface has relief, thanks to which the strap looks on a model like a piece of webbing rather than a drawn stripe. The shade matches the real fabric, so mixing paint is unnecessary. Seats in ordinary 1:24 scale kits come molded smooth, and that is exactly where this accessory belongs.
Historically, four-point sets in Seven-type cars were anchored to the frame behind the seats and to the floor at the sills, an arrangement that is easy to imitate on a model. If you build the car with a roll cage, the shoulder straps run over the crossbar, and that is a detail which lends the cockpit credibility more than any added instrument on the dashboard. While you are at it, check that both sides come out at the same height, because a viewer notices an asymmetrical run of the strap sooner than any other inaccuracy in the small space of the tub.
