A set of WORK Emotion XD9 wheels for models of cars in 1:24 scale, in the form matching a 17-inch wheel. It is an accessory, not a kit of a car: a scaled-down version of a particular Japanese aftermarket design with which you replace the simplified wheels from the box.
The real subject. The Japanese brand WORK Wheels belongs among the pillars of the tuning scene and its Emotion range is one of the most widespread. The XD9 design consists of nine straight spokes led right out to the edge of the rim. A 17-inch diameter is the natural choice for older Japanese cars, compact hatchbacks and builds where a wheel is meant to look true to its period and not excessively large.
Take note of the sister variant. The manufacturer also offers the same subject in the form matching an 18-inch wheel; the difference between the items is in the diameter. A smaller diameter usually leaves more room for a higher tire profile, which looks more convincing on older cars.
Separate the parts carefully and sand the cut surfaces flat, so that the wheel does not wobble once it is fitted. After degreasing, apply a base and spray the paint in thin layers, as a thick layer will round the edges of the spokes off. Proven shades are silver metallic, anthracite, bronze or white, and a contrasting rim is fine-tuned with a brush. Leave the metallic shades until the end, as they are harder to overspray and to mask.
