About product

Green Stuff World Metal Filters - Purple Interference

A transparent water-based acrylic product with a metallic interference pigment. It is not an opaque paint but a transparent filter that is applied over an already painted surface and gives it a metallic sheen with a purple cast that shifts with the viewing angle and the lighting. Combined with a base shade it lets you create your own color-shift effect.

What it is and what it is not

  • It is a transparent interference filter that shifts and metalizes the shade beneath it.
  • It is not an opaque paint and will not cover a surface on its own.
  • The effect comes out best over dark bases; over pure black only the tone of the metal shows.

Use

  • Applied with a brush as well as an airbrush over a dried base coat.
  • Thins and cleans with water; stir it well before use.
  • Suitable for car bodies, insect wings, fantasy elements and anywhere you want a pearlescent sheen.

Who it is for

For modelers and figure painters who want to experiment with metallic and color-shifting effects.

A water-based product. Store it closed and out of the reach of children.
