The size of the leaf is the main distinguishing detail in this line: the same color and the same kind of leaf also exist in the Large variant, and which of them is the right one is decided by the size of your scene.

Why reach for the smaller size

The size of the leaf determines how large a plant seems to the viewer. A small leaf reads correctly with figures in smaller scales, with aircraft or on a model railroad, where a large leaf would look like a burdock. The second advantage is density: more small leaves fit along the same length of branch, so the growth looks rich without outgrowing the detail around it. How to work with the foliage

• Prepare an armature of thin wire or string and apply the leaves to it only then.
• Work from the end of the branch toward the trunk and check the density against the light.
• Mix the shades; a transition between yellow and green looks more credible than a uniform color.
• Go over the finished plant with a matte varnish, so that it holds its shape and does not shine.
