A basic set of painting masks of kabuki tape for a model of the Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II is a single-seat attack aircraft built around its gun armament and intended to support ground units. The A-10C version is a modernized conversion with a digitally equipped cockpit and the ability to carry precision-guided munitions. Among modelers the aircraft is known by the nickname Warthog as well. The large canopy is visible on a model at first glance, so it is worth unmasking it cleanly.
These are painting masks cut out of kabuki tape, that is of a thin paper tape with a sensitive adhesive, which holds on an edge and yet does not pull the paint off. The masks are cut to the shape of particular areas, so cutting out and measuring falls away. The word BASIC in the name sets the basic version of the set apart within the line, and the exact list of masks is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Lay the masks on a clean and degreased surface before spraying. Press the edges down with a toothpick or a blunt point so that the paint does not run under the tape. Spray in thin layers and take the masks off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch. Pull them with tweezers at a slant to the surface, not straight upward.
Check in the manufacturer's instructions which kit the set is cut for. The masks suit the shapes of a particular model and need not fit another kit.
For modelers who want the frames of the canopy and the other masked areas sharp without cutting them out by hand.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
