A detail set from the SPACE range by Eduard for models of the American Grumman A-6A Intruder carrier bomber in 1:72 scale. The set combines 3D decals of the main and side instrument and control panels with pre-painted photo-etched steel parts, including seat belts. The result is a quick and faithful lift of the cockpit without any need for complicated painting.
It is not a kit of an aircraft but an upgrade accessory for the cockpit. The 3D elements have realistic depth and legible dials, they are lifted off the backing paper with tweezers and fixed with PVA glue, while the photo-etched steel belts give the seats an authentic look. The set is intended for A-6A Intruder models in this scale and raises the level of interior detail considerably.
Apply the 3D elements to a clean and degreased surface: with a sponge and a drop of detergent you soak the backing paper only, then lift the element off with tweezers and fix it with white PVA glue. Do not use a decal softener or a decal setter, as they attack the printed resin and ruin the element. Shape the photo-etched belts and glue them with cyanoacrylate, although the manufacturer does not recommend it for the 3D elements. Finally even the surface out with a matte varnish.
The set is an accessory to a kit; the model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
