The Westland Sea King is the British version of the American Sikorsky Sea King, built under license and adapted for the needs of the Royal Navy. The HAS.1 version was the first naval anti-submarine variant, which entered service with the Royal Navy at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. A boat-shaped hull, folding rotor blades and a folding tail section for operation from a deck, and equipment for searching out submarines are among its most striking features.

First go through the instructions and lay out at which stage of the build the set enters the model; most accessories are fitted before the fuselage is closed. Try the seating dry and adjust the plastic parts of the kit gently as needed. Choose the procedure of gluing and painting according to which parts the set contains, and go by the manufacturer's instructions. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, so that the paint holds on them.
For modelers who build the Sea King HAS.1 in 1:48 scale and want to lift a model above the level of what is in the box. The set assumes that you already have the kit and will plan the build according to it.
