Responsibility details are not available.
A finished scaled-down model of the M16A1 assault rifle in 1:3 scale. The model comes from the factory assembled and painted, so nothing is glued or sprayed. It is not a functional weapon but a collector item intended for display and for comparing the shape and the proportions of the real subject.
The M16A1 was a variant of the American 5.56 mm assault rifle which differed from the original standard in an added auxiliary forward assist on the right side of the receiver and in further detailed changes drawn from operating experience. The design builds on the barrel and the stock being on the same axis, which reduces the climb of the weapon, and on extensive use of light alloys and plastics. Its typical external features are the carrying handle with the sights, the triangular handguard and the fixed stock. The model captures those features in reduction, so the overall layout of the weapon is clearly apparent on it.
The model is painted in a standard matching the real subject and is ready to be displayed at once. Reduced to 1:3 it makes a desk exhibit that suits a shelf, a display case, or a reference piece on a modeling bench while building figures and dioramas. Remove the dust with a soft dry brush; do not use solvents, spirit or preserving oils, which could attack the surface finish. Do not expose the model to direct sun and store it so that it does not tip over and is not under pressure on its fine parts.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. It is not a functional weapon; the model does not fire and is not intended for children.
