A turned barrel of 7.5 cm caliber, 48 calibers long, in the version without a muzzle brake, for models of the StuG III Ausf. F/8 and G and the StuG IV assault guns in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The StuG III assault gun arose on the chassis of the German medium tank Panzer III and it has no revolving turret; the cannon is mounted in the front wall of the superstructure and it aims where the whole vehicle is turned. The StuG IV is a later counterpart built on the chassis of the Panzer IV. The armament of both machines came to include a cannon of 7.5 cm caliber, 48 calibers long, carried in the name of the item under the designation KwK 40. Some of the barrels built were without a muzzle brake, and it is precisely this form that the set captures.
A turned replacement barrel for 1:35 scale. Against the part from the kit it has three advantages that are visible on the model at first glance: the cross section is genuinely circular along its whole length, the muzzle is drilled to a depth, so you can look into it, and there is no lengthwise seam on the surface that would have to be sanded away. That does away with the most tiresome part of working on a gun barrel, that is sanding the seam without losing the cylindrical shape.
For modelers of German vehicles in 1:35 scale who are building the StuG III in the Ausf. F/8 or G versions or the StuG IV and want the most conspicuous part of the vehicle to be right. The set contains the barrel; the kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
