A wire 0.3 mm in diameter and one meter long in a blue shade that the name describes as sea blue. Thin wire belongs among the most versatile materials for the details a kit lacks: runs in landing gear bays, lines to the wheel brakes, links at the engine, tow cables, grab handles or antennas. It is colored from manufacture, which helps where a brush is hard to get to.
A diameter of 0.3 mm corresponds in reality to roughly 14 mm in 1:48 scale, about 10 mm in 1:35 scale and approximately 22 mm in 1:72 scale. It therefore suits thicker cables and hoses, while for the finest runs in a cockpit it is better to reach for a thinner section. A meter of length lasts for several models, because the individual runs tend to be only a few centimeters long.
Cut the wire with sharp nippers or a blade, so that the end stays straight. Form the bends with tweezers in small steps, not in one pull, otherwise a sharp kink appears at the bend. You get the firmest joint by sinking the end into a pre-drilled hole and securing it with a drop of super glue; a joint made only by sticking it to a surface holds markedly worse. If you are going to overspray the area afterwards, degrease the spot first and apply the paint in thin coats.
For modelers who detail aircraft, military vehicles, cars and dioramas and want a stock of material for wiring and cables at hand. The package contains the wire in the length stated; the model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
