A thinner and cleaner canopy tells immediately in a small scale: the frames read more delicately, the glass distorts less and the interior that was worth investing time in stays visible.
The AH-64D Apache is an American attack helicopter with a tandem cabin, a crew of two and armament in the form of a cannon under the front of the fuselage and weapons on the stub wing pylons. The D version is most conspicuous in that a number of machines carry a characteristic radar housing above the rotor head, thanks to which the machine can look for targets while exposing itself as little as possible. Cut the part out with enough margin and work your way to the outline by sanding on fine paper, ideally wet. Try it dry and keep checking whether the canopy seats all the way around. Mark the frames out with narrow strips of masking and paint them only after the interior has been finished. Handle the bonding with a product that will not haze the glass, and protect the finished surface while sanding the surrounding joints.
