The designation in the name refers to the light finish of the straps: on American machines the color and the material of the belts differed according to the period and the production batch, so choosing the right variant is part of a faithful build. The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was a four-engine heavy bomber which during the Second World War formed the backbone of the American daylight raids over Europe. Finish and paint the seats first and fit the belts last, still before the fuselage is closed.
