The decal sheet 1:32 (1:48) Decals Lozenge with linen effect Naval Hex Camo 2 carries the regular grid of hexagons that the floatplanes of the Imperial German Navy wore.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second sheet of the Naval Hex Camo line brings the hexagonal camouflage of German naval aircraft. The manufacturer intends it for 1:32 scale and allows its use in 1:48 as well, because the motif is printed at a uniform pitch across the whole A4 format measuring 297 x 210 mm.
While the land units were given the lozenge print, the Imperial German Naval Air Service reached for a coarser grid of regular hexagons. It was worn by floatplanes operating from the coasts of Flanders and the Baltic, typically two-seat reconnaissance and fighter floatplanes. The larger fields matched the larger dimensions of the fuselages and flying surfaces of these aircraft. They appeared on the sides as well, where they helped break up the outline of a machine resting on the water.
The printing is digital and holds no white component, so the finish underneath sets the coloring. A light gloss base coat will give the motif saturation, while a yellowish base shifts it toward warmer tones. The manufacturer describes the set as intended for experienced hands: extensive surfaces call for calm and for plenty of water under the decal.
In the box there is a single printed sheet; nothing else is enclosed with it.
