An accessory set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the A-20G Havoc attack bomber in 1:32 scale. The SPACE range stands between a decal and photo-etching: the elements are printed with relief, so unlike a classic decal they are not completely flat and cast a shadow in side light. They are applied, however, without bending small metal parts; the element is lifted off the dampened backing paper.
In the large scale the interior of an open cockpit is clearly visible and the molded parts from a kit tend to be only suggested. Three-dimensional decals give the instrument and side panels legible detail with no laborious hand painting of every knob. The set is meant for one particular type, so the shapes of the panels correspond to the real subject and do not have to be reworked.
The base has to be smooth and clean; the element has no adhesive layer of its own and is fixed with white PVA glue. With a sponge and a drop of dish soap, dampen the backing paper only, lift the element off with tweezers and press it down with a soft cloth, with no sideways pressure. Do not use a decal softener or a decal setter, as they attack the printed resin and ruin the element. Cut the elements off the sheet with a small margin, so that their edges are not damaged while you handle them with tweezers. Once it has dried, the turn comes for a matte clear coat, which seals the edges and unifies the surface with its surroundings.
The set contains accessory decals. The model itself and paints are not supplied with it.
