A set of pre-cut masks for an A-20J/K Havoc model in 1:32 scale, cut to the shape of the glazing of the HK Models kit. The double-sided form allows for the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing, so you can spray the frames in the color of the aircraft from outside and in the cockpit shade from inside.
In a large scale the cockpit can be seen into, and a single-color frame seen from inside gives away that the glazing was only half dealt with. Masking the inside is the more long-winded half of the work: the pieces are smaller, harder to stick down, and cutting by hand on a curved surface almost never fits exactly. A cut mask settles this part of the task.
Work one side at a time. Wash and degrease the glazing, stick the inner pieces on, spray the cockpit shade and let it dry; only then do the outer masks and the color of the upper surfaces come in turn. Always press the edges down with a blunt tip and spray thin coats perpendicular to the surface so that paint does not creep under the mask. Take it off once the paint has dried, not sooner.
For modelers who finish a cockpit from the inside too in 1:32 scale and do not want to spend a whole evening cutting tape under a magnifier. The kit and the paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
