Eduard 1:32 ADLERANGRIFF: Experten is a sheet of waterslide decals in 1:32 scale for models of German fighters of the summer of 1940. It is not a model nor a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a decal sheet on its own in 1:32 scale from Eduard, that is, an accessory for a model already built or under construction. The set belongs to the ADLERANGRIFF themed range, which Eduard devotes to the German single-engine fighters deployed in the air offensive over Britain from August 1940. The designation Experten refers to the period term for fighter pilots with a high number of claimed aerial victories; the set therefore offers their personal and unit markings. It is a marking set, not a set of technical lettering.
The code name Adlerangriff designated the German air offensive against the British Isles launched in August 1940. The aircraft deployed in this period carried a combination of national insignia, tactical codes and individual unit markings, which differed over time as well as between formations - which is exactly why separate decal sheets are useful for modelers. In 1:32 scale the markings are large and their quality and color registration show on a finished model at once.
Decals belong on a glossy base - a flat coat holds air under the film and so-called silvering appears. Before lifting them, trim the surplus carrier film as closely as possible to the printing; with large-area markings in 1:32 that pays off particularly. Dip the decal in lukewarm water for a few seconds only and let it release on the paper; an oversoaked decal loses its adhesive. Adjust the position on a wet surface with a soft brush, not with a fingernail. Over riveting and engraved lines use decal softener and let the film settle without touching it. Once it has dried, clear coat it and only then flatten it.
This is a decal set, not a model. The kit, paints and clear coat are not included in the package.
