A set of masks in 1:32 scale for spraying the technical stencils and markings onto an Avro Lancaster B.I or B.III model, cut for Border Model and Hong Kong Models kits.

The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War and the main machine of the night raids. It was powered by Merlin V12 engines and its advantage was an unusually long and undivided bomb bay, which took a load that other machines could not lift. The B.I and B.III versions differed practically not at all on the outside, and the difference lay in the origin of the engines: in the B.III version they were Merlins built under license in the United States.
The masks in 1:32 scale define the technical stencils and markings, that is the small texts and symbols scattered over the surface of the aircraft. A sprayed stencil has no carrier film, so no silvering patches appear under it, it will take matte varnish and weathering, and at such a large scale it looks like part of the surface rather than like glued-on paper. The set is cut for kits from Border Model and Hong Kong Models.
The masks are glued on before spraying, onto finished and degreased paint. Transfer the small markings with tweezers and press them down over their whole area, otherwise the paint will run underneath and the text will merge. Spray at right angles and in several very thin coats; with small letters very little paint is really enough. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch and lift it with the tip of a scalpel, so that you do not touch the surrounding surface. Before you start, go through the placing of the stencils according to the instructions and mark them on the model in pencil.
For builders of large bomber models who want their markings sprayed rather than glued on. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
