Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set in 1:32 scale aimed at the four-engine Consolidated B-24D bombers of the 90th Bomb Group of the US Army Air Forces. It is not a kit but an accessory with which you can finish a large model in particular period markings. DK Decals is a Czech brand that devotes itself systematically to Second World War aircraft markings and covers this subject at other scales as well.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was a four-engine heavy bomber with a high-set slender wing of the so-called Davis section, twin rudders and a deep fuselage with a pair of bomb bays. The D version was the first to be built in large numbers and carried defensive gun turrets and turbocharged engines. It was precisely the long range that made the Liberator a key type for the war over the vast Pacific, where many hours over open sea were a matter of routine. The 90th Bomb Group was one of the most active units in that theater, and its machines are well known for their striking artwork markings.
A large bomber in 1:32 scale means sizeable motifs, which are harder to apply than small numbers. It pays to work in stages, to keep plenty of water at hand and not to hurry. The base has to be glossy and free of dust. Slide a large decal off the paper onto a moistened area, move it carefully with a soft brush and squeeze the water out steadily from the middle outward, so that the film does not pleat. Use a decal softener on riveted seams and engraved lines and let the model dry undisturbed overnight. Finally bring the whole surface into line with matte or semi-matte clear.
This is a decal set, not a kit. The model, paints, glue and decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
