1:32 B-24J Canopy, Windows And Wheels Liberator Paint Mask Set covers the cockpit glazing, the gunner windows and the tires of a large model of the B-24J Liberator bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Liberator is one of those aircraft on which there really are a great many clear parts: the glazed nose, the powered turrets, the side gunner stations and the canopy over the pilot's compartment. Covering the frames in with tape by hand would take a whole evening on a model that size. Two sheets of pre-cut masks from DN Models shorten that step to a fraction of the time and the frames come out equally wide along their whole length.
The set thinks of both sides of the glazing. The inner masks make it possible to spray the frames in the interior shade before the parts are glued into the fuselage, while the outer ones then take the color of the topcoat. Only then does the view through look realistic, because on the real aircraft the frame has a different color on each side. Circular masks for separating the tire from the wheel rim are included as well.
The transparencies must not be touched with the fingers; grease will show as a stain under a finish. Use tweezers and cotton gloves. Press the mask down with a blunt stick around the whole perimeter of the frame, so that paint does not get under it. Take it off while the finish is still fresh, not after it has stood for a long time, so that the edge of the paint does not tear.
The package consists of masking sheets, not a model of the bomber or paints.
