A decal sheet in 1:32 scale for the Bell AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter, the second part of a series devoted to the machines of an air cavalry unit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AH-1G Cobra came about as a narrow attack machine derived from a proven transport design. The pilot and the gunner sit one behind the other, the machine stands on skids and it carries its armament on stub wings and in a swiveling turret under the nose. It is precisely the slender fuselage that makes the Cobra a rewarding model: the large side surfaces are clearly visible and markings on them stand out.
The set is listed in its name as the second part and follows on from the first sheet of the same series. How many marking variants it offers and how they are laid out can be found in the instructions supplied with the sheet. It is worth planning the painting from them in advance, because some of the markings are usually applied over a finished coat.
The usual procedure with decal sheets is the wet one. Dip the element together with its backing briefly in lukewarm water, let it rest out of the water and only then slide it onto a dampened spot. A smooth gloss surface belongs under a decal, otherwise a milky haze will appear around it. Blot the excess water away with absorbent paper and leave the model undisturbed to dry.
Before wetting, check in the instructions whether it is an adhesive version. Wetted adhesive film is spoiled, whereas a waterslide decal can be soaked at any time later.
The set is for a modeler who already has a Cobra on the bench in the large scale and is looking for different markings for it. The model, paints, glue and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
