AML reconnaissance Bf 109 F-4/G 1:32 - a resin conversion for building a photo-reconnaissance Messerschmitt. Target kits: Hasegawa, Revell and Trumpeter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This AML resin conversion set turns a Messerschmitt fighter of the F-4 or G series into a photo-reconnaissance version. The package is not a model in its own right; these are conversion parts meant to be built into large 1:32 kits. The manufacturer states compatibility with the Hasegawa, Revell and Trumpeter kits, so compare that against what you have on the shelf before buying.
Photo-reconnaissance Messerschmitts complemented the ordinary fighter versions with cameras built into the fuselage behind the cockpit and brought headquarters pictures of the front line and of the enemy's rear areas. They usually flew fast and high, often with reduced armament in favor of range. The F and G versions, on which these conversions were based, were among the aerodynamically cleanest forms of the whole type, so a reconnaissance machine looks elegant in a display case too.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water before painting so that no mold release agent from production is left on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Join the parts with cyanoacrylate glue; always check the position with a dry run first. Mask the camera windows in the underside of the fuselage before the camouflage is sprayed, because dried paint is hard to get off a glossy surface.
