This kit in 1:32 scale captures the famous German fighter aircraft Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 from the beginning of the Second World War. It is the ProfiPACK edition from Eduard, which adds colored photo-etch, self-adhesive painting masks and an extensive decal sheet with several color options to the good injection-molded plastic. Thanks to the large 1:32 scale the richly detailed surface, the cockpit and the engine section all come into their own.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was among the main fighters of the Luftwaffe in the first years of the war and became famous above all during the Battle of Britain in 1940. The E-4 version was powered by an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 and carried a combination of machine guns and wing cannons. The machine excelled in performance at high altitude and in fast diving flight and became one of the best known fighter aircraft of its time.
Use liquid cement for plastic, which is drawn into the seams by capillary action and makes clean joints. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting; it evens the surface out and shows up small flaws. Lay the colors on with an airbrush in thin coats; the masks supplied make crisp transitions on the canopy glazing easier. You will appreciate the colored photo-etch above all in the cockpit interior.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
