A set of painting (masking) masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:32 scale. The masks are precisely cut and are used to cover the canopy frames, the glazed surfaces and usually the tires as well when spraying paint and lacquer. Thanks to the precise shape you get sharp, clean edges without laborious hand masking with tape. This is an aftermarket accessory, not a stand-alone model — the masks are used on the matching plastic model of that aircraft, which is bought separately.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G, nicknamed Gustav, was the most produced version of this German fighter. The G-6 configuration had the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine and the characteristic fairings over the synchronized thirteen millimeter machine guns on the engine cowling.
The masks are carefully separated from the sheet, applied to a clean, degreased surface and pressed down gently so that paint does not creep under the edges. Paint is applied in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush; once dry, the masks are taken off before the lacquer has fully cured. It is a good idea to fill the remaining glazed areas between the frames with masking tape or masking fluid.
These are painting masks, not a model of the aircraft. The model itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
