The Decals pale blue linen decal imitates pale blue stretched linen; an A4 sheet from digital printing with no white.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet measuring 297 x 210 millimeters is printed digitally on transparent decal paper and holds no white. That is precisely the key to using it: the lightness of the result is set by the base you lay the decal on. The motif faithfully imitates the texture of stretched and doped linen in a pale blue shade.
Early aircraft had their flying surfaces covered with linen, which was tautened with dope. The dope gave it strength and impermeability and at the same time a tint of color; depending on the composition of the dope and its additives, shades arose from yellowish through gray to light blue. The lower surfaces were given lighter tones, so that the machine stood out less against the sky. The texture of the fabric meanwhile stayed apparent even under several coats, which is a detail that a painted model never quite captures.
Prepare the surface smooth and light, ideally in a white or very light gray shade. Cut the sheet to a paper template and lay the individual pieces down with an overlap across the edges. A decal softener will help the material flow around the ribs. The shade can be fine-tuned by warming or cooling the base.
The sheet is meant to be divided and cut to your own need; it holds no finished markings for a particular machine.
