1:32 Douglas A-20J/K Havoc seatbelts STEEL is an Eduard photo-etched steel seat harness for the crew seats in a large scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A standalone photo-etched set which, according to the name, contains a harness made of steel for the crew seats of the twin-engine Douglas in the versions with a glazed nose. The contents are the seat harness, not airframe parts.
Steel photo-etch is more springy and stronger than brass. A steel strap can be formed into a natural sag over the seat back and will hold its shape without springing out during further work. It is exactly a convincingly fitted harness that turns an empty seat into an inhabited place, and in 1:32 scale you can see into the cockpit enough for that to pay off. The harness is at the same time the quickest way to move the impression of the interior along, even if you do nothing to the rest of the cockpit.
Form it over a rounded object, for instance over the handle of tweezers or over a pencil, so that a smooth curve arises with no sharp kinks. Steel bends less readily than brass, so press on it steadily and rather in several attempts. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer. Glue the buckles and fittings to the ends one at a time, best with a minimal drop of super glue applied with the tip of a wire. Once dry, bend the strap slightly so that it looks softened and not like a strip of sheet metal.
It is a targeted accessory for the seats and does not replace the rest of the cockpit equipment.
