A decal sheet in 1:32 scale for a model of the F-4G Phantom II aircraft. An accessory to a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4G Phantom II is a specialized conversion of the two-seat Phantom intended for the suppression of enemy air defenses. The job of the crew was to find radiating radars, fix their position and silence them with anti-radiation missiles, that is to fly against what other aircraft avoid. It is precisely on machines in this role that the markings are a rewarding subject for a modeler, because this is a well documented and unmistakable version of the Phantom.
This is a decal sheet in 1:32 scale, that is in a large scale in which every inscription and marking on the model is easy to read. Which particular machines, codes and national insignia the sheet carries, and how many marking options you can build from it, are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The sheet is an accessory to a finished kit and comes into play at the end of the build, after the model has been varnished.
First coat the surface under the decal with a gloss clear coat; on a matte surface silvery patches form under the carrier film. Cut the motif out close to the edge of the print and let it rest in lukewarm water until it starts to slide on the backing paper. Transfer it to the dampened spot, line the position up and press the water out from under it with a soft cloth, from the center outward. On a complex surface a decal softener helps and the decal then settles into the engraved lines. Once it is completely dry, go over the model with a matte varnish and only then weather it.
The kit, varnishes, decal softener and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
