This resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Aires replaces the cockpit on a kit of the carrier-based F8F-1 Bearcat fighter in 1:32 scale. This is not an aircraft model but an accessory for experienced modelers that changes the simplified plastic interior for a richly articulated resin replica of the cabin with an instrument panel, a seat, levers and side panels.
The F8F-1 Bearcat was a piston-engined carrier fighter of US naval aviation from the end of the Second World War, prized for its high performance and agility. The compact pilot's cabin is clearly visible under the transparent canopy, so a faithful interior is one of the most effective improvements of a model.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Sand with respiratory protection. Prime the interior, paint it and pull out the detail with a dry brush and a dark wash; bring the instrument panel to life with a fine varnish on the dials.
The set is supplied as a resin accessory for a kit, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
